Dr. Lorena Martin is an applied behavioral scientist that specializes in the field of health behavior. She holds a doctorate in exercise physiology from the University of Miami. As a strong advocate of following a healthy lifestyle, she makes it a priority to practice what she preaches. Dr. Martin has been able to morph her body several different ways by contouring her nutrient intake and exercise modality. Currently, she is an active researcher, consultant, and educator in the areas of health and exercise physiology. Growing up she has always wanted to help others achieve a healthy lifestyle, emphasizing the importance of the physiological processes that occur from a healthy diet and proper exercise (not just weight loss). She became an aerobics instructor at the tender age of 19 and was employed at Bally Total Fitness, where she later became an ACE certified personal trainer. Dr. Martin later became a program director of sports medicine at Keiser University, and finally moved across the country to collaborate in top-notch research with the world’s leading scientists in physical activity and exercise adherence at the University of California San Diego. Dr. Martin has also been an invited author for Mass Nutrition and Miami Sports Magazine. She has also been published in peer-reviewed journals for her groundbreaking research in behavioral medicine. Dr. Martin has presented her research on adherence of healthy behaviors at national and international conferences across the globe.
